What is an Introvert

Each person spends some time being an extrovert and sometime being an introvert.

Susan Cain: The power of Introverts

Introversion is the act of being for the most part involved with and interested in a mental balance and well-being. Introverts mental energy increases through contemplation and decrease during interaction. The trait of extroversion or introversion is a chief characteristic of human personality theories.

The terms introversion and extroversion were first universalized by Carl Gustav Jung. Jung often referred to as C. G. Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist who founded analytical psychology. It’s important to note that no one is entirely an extrovert or introvert.

Each person spends some time being an extrovert and sometime being an introvert. Introverts often take pleasure in solitary activities such as reading, writing, sewing, painting, composing, running and fishing. Try not to confuse introversion with shyness or being withdrawn because they are not related. An introvert is likely to enjoy time spent alone and find less reward in time spent with large groups of people, though he or she may enjoy interactions with close friends.
