Acute Stress is a very short-term type of stress that this is a type of stress most often encounter in day-to-day life. You may feel uncomfortable asking for help, but that doesn't mean you should go without the help that is needed.

An acute stress reaction occurs when symptoms, including anxiety, develop quickly as a reaction to exceptionally stressful events. Empower yourself by taking actions to control your stress level. Set goals that are reasonable to achieve. Almost everyone needs someone in their life they can rely on when they are having a hard time. Having little or no support makes stressful situations even more difficult to deal with.


Just as there are many sources of stress, there are many possibilities for its management. Become aware of your stressors and your emotional and physical reactions. An acute stress reaction occurs when symptoms develop due to a particularly stressful event. Your body responds to stressors differently however the acute stress response, also known as the fight-or-flight response. Acute stress is an immediate reaction to a stressful situation. It could mean that you are in danger, critical incidents, disaster or just given bad news. Do not let acute stress become danger chronic stress. You can deal with acute stress by taking deep breaths, counting to 10, going for a walk or a run or talking to someone you can trust who will listen.


Talking can help relieve issues that are emotionally weighing you down. Say what's on your mind since talking about feelings can help you make sense of them. You may feel uncomfortable asking for help, but that doesn't mean you should go without the help that is needed. Just talking about it may help you feel less alone and less controlled by acute stressful events in your life.
